The Intersex Pride Flag represents intersex individuals, who are born with sex characteristics which do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies. The flag was created in July 2013 by Morgan Carpenter of Intersex Human Rights Australia. The yellow and purple colours were chosen because they were considered free from gender associations. The circle is “unbroken and unornamented, symbolizing wholeness and completeness, and our potentialities.” The Intersex Flag is printed on a single side of knitted polyester material and the ink bleeds through so the design appears as a mirror image at the other side. The flag is suitable for outdoor and indoor use and can be installed on a flagpole. The product is flag only and will require to purchase flag clips separately.
