The Transgender flag is a symbol of the transgender community, which is a group of people whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. The flag was designed in 1999 by transgender woman Monica Helms. The pink and blue stripes represent the traditional colours for baby girls and boys, with the white stripe in the centre representing those who are transitioning between the other genders or do not identify with either. This Transgender Hand Flag is digitally printed on a single side of knitted polyester material and the ink bleeds through so the design appears as a mirror image at the other side. The handwaver comes with a wooden stick and can be used as a desk flag by purchasing a desk base separately.
